Sony Digital Camera Reviews:-

Reviews.digitaltrends about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 Digital Camera Review:- I like this camera. My pictures came out great, topnotch image quality and good design. I bought this camera with a promo… with cable, memory card and extra battery. Transferring my pics to my computer is never a problem. I was so thrilled and immensely satisfied. Although I find the optical viewfinder unusable because I strain my eye trying to focus when I use this… it’s so tiny. Lacks some features that I would normally want but performance wise it’s a good camera to own. Not a junk I say when you know how to use it.

Letsgodigital about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 Digital Camera Review:- The new Sony Cybershot W-series model incorporates a selectable in-camera editing function that can save you from hours of post-editing time at the computer. Equipped with Sony’s Dynamic Range Optimizer, the camera can analyze captured image data and instantly determine the best exposure and tonality of each picture before JPEG compression. Other helpful in-camera functions include red-eye correction and retouching effects. You can create artistic photos with the soft edge filter that emphasizes a focused subject by blurring the background. The partial color filter highlights the subject by letting it remain in color while making the background black-and-white. Photos can be enhanced with the cross filter that adds four-point star effects to the light in an image, and enlivened with the fish-eye filter for an amusing fishbowl effect.

Pcworld about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 Digital Camera Review:- The Optical view finder helped us get the right composition thus upping the not-so-visible TFT display under sunlight. Getting the right focus in macro mode was also not a problem. Its lens could get as close as 2 inches. In low lights, though noise was low, there was some loss of detail. We think this is Sony’s idea of evening up things; while it keeps minimum noise, images sacrifice their details. The Flash lights up subjects up to a distance of 6 feet but not beyond. The high ISO 3200 settings captured images with enormous noise, but keeping it below 800 gives the best result. The red-eye reduction mode managed its task pretty well. We suggest using this mode in a situation when plenty of flash usage is required. Burst mode at high frame rate works great while shooting moving subjects. The absence of manual controls is compensated by the program mode which offers enough settings to tweak the camera for casual shooters.sony4

Amazon about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 Digital Camera Review:- I noticed that at certain angles the light reflected off the anti-reflective coating of the lens shows up on the display as purple bars of light that extend up and down the screen. It doesn’t seem to show up in the photos but do show up when composing the shots.

Someone else I know that owns a W80 said that he has also seen the purple light bars. I just want to let everyone know before buying that this is a flaw of this camera.

It can be a bit annoying seeing it when composing a shot. That’s why I’m not giving it 5 stars.
