panasonic lumix dmctz1 reviewsNow this time again Panasonic introduce new digital camera int he market- Lumix DMCTZ1.Its the world’s smallest 10 xs optical zoom digital still camera. Panasonic Lumix cameras go from strength to strength with technological advancements designed to offer the ultimate in picture performance and user convenience.

Panasonics Lumix TX1, the world’s smallest 10x optical zoom digital camera, the 5 mega pixel camera features a folded optical zoom lens that runs along the inside of the body, with image stabilization, a 2.5″ screen, a VGA video mode, and high sensitivity mode with ISO800 and ISO1600.

With a convenient built-in 14 megabytes of memory, you can take photos even when you don’t have an SD memory card on hand. A travel date stamp function lets you input the time and date of your departure before you leave home, then you can use the camera to capture all the best moments of your trip. When you view the photos later, the camera will display them according to the day of the trip each photo was taken.

You can even set the date and time for both your present location and your destination, choosing from 162 cities around the world in 32 time zones. A calendar view lets you arrange images you’ve shot by the day on which you shot them. This can be a big help when you have a large number of images to organize.

Before we go on, I want to mention the scene modes. First, why are there two scene mode spots on the mode dial? It’s simple: each spot remembers your favorite scene mode so you can easily get to them. The starry sky scene lets you choose a shutter speed of 15, 30, or 60 seconds — you can use the night scenery mode for shorter long exposures (I know that sounds weird). The baby mode lets you select the birthday of two babies, and their current age will be saved in the EXIF headers of the photos you take in this mode.

Panasonic is the first manufacturer to incorporate the highly useful High Angle Mode to a digital still camera LCD, making it easy to view when holding the camera up high to take pictures over a crowd, for example. With the help of the Power LCD function, which boosts the backlighting of the LCD by 40%, even shooting in bright outdoor situations is no longer a problem. The high-resolution LCD can also display your images in up to 25 thumbnails on a multi-split screen and allows you to date search an image with the Calendar Display Mode.

# Amazon Review: - The reviews I read on Amazon made the camera sound great, although reviews on other sites complained of poor picture quality. My mistake believed the Amazon reviews. I wanted to like this camera, it is beautiful, jewel-like, and a pleasure to hold. Operation is a bit difficult due to reflections on the LCD display. But the clincher was the picture quality. More than half of the pictures I take in any situation are out of focus. I majored in photography in college and know how to hold the camera still. The focus is poor even in photos at the wide angle setting, depending on the lighting conditions. Very disappointing! I have a Nikon D70 and Canon S400 so perhaps my standards are high, but this puppy is in a box and on its way back.

# Dcresource Review: - The DMC-TZ1 is a midsize camera that’s smaller than nearly every ultra zoom camera on the market (save for the Kodak V610). The camera is made almost entirely of metal, and it feels very solid in your hands. Speaking of which, the camera is easy to hold an operate with just one hand. The important controls are well-placed. Like so many cameras these days, the TZ1 comes in multiple colors. It comes in silver, black, and I’ve seen a blue one as well (though I’m not sure if it’s sold here in the States).

# Panasonic Review:-A traveler’s treasure - the small DMC-TZ1 boasts huge features to make travel photography a real pleasure: The lens part of the super-compact TZ1 features the integration of a retractable lens system with folded optics technology, realized by the inclusion of a prism. Incorporating three a spherical lens, the crystallization of Panasonic optics technology, results in an amazingly powerful 10x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens contained within a slim and stylish body.
