Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 Reviews
Panasonic has today launched an entirely new line of Lumix compact digital cameras - Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3. This appears to be conceptually similar to the FX line but slightly below that premium range in terms of specification and possibly build quality. The first model to slot into this segment is the FS3, an 8.1 megapixel 3x zoom compact with the typical Panasonic blend of fully automatic control with user overrides should the camera misread the prevailing conditions.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 is an 8.1 megapixel point and shoot camera with a 3x optical zoom lens and 2.5 inch LCD. It features face detection technology, image stabilization, intelligent scene selection, intelligent ISO, megabytes of internal memory and much more. The FS3 comes in blue, pink, green, silver and black. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 will have a retail price of $199.95 when it becomes available in February.
The 8.1 megapixel Lumix DMC-FS3 is built around a 3x Optical Zoom f2.8 Leica DC Vario-Elmarit Lens, which delivers a 35mm film camera equivalent focal range of 33-100mm.It also boasts Panasonic’s fourth generation, Venus Engine IV processor, a 230,000-dot high-resolution LCD with Intelligent LCD function, on which snappers can watch their pics in a slideshow and listen to music at the same time. The processor supports shooting at 3fps at full resolution, and in High-Speed Burst shooting mode, it delivers 7fps.Snappers also get unlimited consecutive shooting, which lets you continue shooting until the memory card is full.
Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto Mode is comprised of five distinct technologies designed to provide users ith intuitive and automatic camera adjustments no matter the shooting condition and without the user having to do anything manually.
Gyro sensors detect hand-shake and the lens system shifts to compensate, helping to prevent hand-shake from creating a blurry image.
Senses the ambient conditions, recognizes the shooting environment and will automatically select the appropriate scene mode from: Scenery, Portrait, Macro, Night Portrait or Night Scenery mode.
Panasonic’s Face Detection detects up to 15 faces anywhere in the frame, even if they are moving, and automatically chooses the optimal focus and exposure settings so portraits come out clear and crisp.
The Quick AF (auto focus) system starts focus on the subject by just pointing the camera to the subject, thus minimizing the AF time.
The Panasonic DMC-FS3 features a variety of functions which expand convenience and fun for users at every stage. The energy-efficient Venus Engine IV imaging engine encourages the long battery life of DMC-FS3 to shoot around 330 shots despite their large, bright LCD on a single battery charge.
With reference to design improvements all new Lumix cameras incorporate a REC/PLAYBACK mode. This helps the photographer to instantly switch between recording and playback modes, while always knowing which mode the camera is in. The GUI (Graphic User Interface) has been modified to look more futuristic in terms of design and colours while maintaining the visibility of characters.
The DMC-FS3 will be available in silver, black blue, pink and green. We have no price as yet.
