The nikon is loaded with the latest professional technologies designed to produce images of the highest quality. The high-resolution 12.3 MP DX format CMOS sensor generates image files suitable for almost every type of output, combined with a fast standard frame advance rate of 6fps (up to 8 fps with optional Multi Power Battery Pack). The D300 offers fast power-up, quick response and outstanding flexibility to meet the needs of a wide variety of photographic assignments. The D300 powers-up in just 0.13 seconds, with an almost imperceptible 45 millisecond shutter lag.

The DX-format (23.6×15.8 mm), 12-megapixel CMOS sensor is new, the Nikon D300 Review otherwise retains the raft of features that made the D200 so powerful, plus some high-profile enhancements. Most notably, the D300 increases to 51 AF points with 15 cross-type sensors, which contributes to the camera’s new 3D-tracking 51-point Dynamic Area AF mode, and replaces the Group Dynamic AF of its predecessor. Essentially, the D300’s 1,005-point 3D color matrix meter does double duty, feeding a low-resolution digitized version of the scene to the new Multi-Cam 3500DX AF module for tracking analysis.

Nikon has a lot invested in lens-based optical-image stabilization technology, so the D300 lacks the in-body sensor-shift stabilization that Sony, Pentax, Olympus, and Panasonic offer. That’s not a big deal if you already have an investment in Nikon’s VR lenses or don’t really use/care about stabilization. But if you do care about it and making your first dSLR purchase, or contemplating shifting from another brand, then don’t discount its importance; the fact that the two kits require a choice between VR and non-VR lenses foreshadows future lens choices you’ll have to make.

The larger 3″ LCD screen is nice, but far nicer is how much faster playback responds to button presses. The D300 uses the same EN-EL3e lithium-ion battery as the D200. This battery packs a lot of juice — 11.1 Wh to be exact. When it’s time to charge the EN-EL3e battery, just snap it into the included charger. It takes around 135 minutes to fully charge the battery. This isn’t one of those handy chargers that plugs right into the wall — you must use a power cable. Oh well, can’t have everything.

Nikon D300 Reviews:-                                                                          nikon1

# Reviews.cnet Review:- Excellent performance and photo quality; solidly built; extremely flexible custom settings architecture; onboard wireless flash controller.

# Dpreview Review:- Nikon pioneered wireless image transmission. Now, with the new Nikon Wireless Transmitter WT-43, the era of the multi camera network has arrived. Not only can one transmit (‘push’) images to servers and remotely control the camera from afar, the WT-4 also enables remote browsing of the camera’s image thumbnails as well. In a wireless environment, networks of up to 5 D300 cameras can be established and image thumbnails from all connected cameras browsed simultaneously and relevant image files ‘pulled’, while the photographers continue shooting.

# Kenrockwell Review:- The D300 has an amazing automatic ability to fix lateral color fringes. The D300 actually makes lenses look better than they are! This gives better, sharper results. There’s no need to activate this, it just works, with AF and even old manual focus and fisheye lenses.
