The LEICA DIGILUX 3 is equipped with a 7.5 megapixel LiveMOS sensor for a real-time live photo function, outstanding picture quality and energy-saving operating system. To protect the camera with its exchangeable lenses against the dreaded dirt on the image sensor due to penetration of dirt and dust particles, it is fitted with an ultrasonic protective filter in front of the sensor. The picture signal processor of the LEICA DIGILUX 3 is also improved compared to the preceding model.

Digitalcamerareview.com about Leica Digilux 3  Digital Camera Review:-  Camera performance, as expected, was very good, with quick start up times, minimal shutter lag, and great shot to shot times.  The one area in which shutter lag is much higher is when you’re using the Live View mode.  The mirror starts locked up (so the image can be seen on the LCD) and when you take the shot, the mirror has to cycle twice – once to get exposure information and once to capture the image.

I learned on a Nikon F1 and a Canon A1, but I became a photographer when a friend gave me his old Leica M6 Rangefinder.
